Sample multimedia by Clarence Maise

I love to create things so I am always working on something. Drawing, making videos, creating new webpages; I always seem to be working on one more project.

Using a wide range of programs I try to create multimedia that people can use. I use the Adobe CS4 suite of software to help me create what I see in my head. In most cases I use Illustrator for graphics, Premiere Pro and Flash for my videos and Dreamweaver for the web stuff. I also use Camtasia Stuido, Adobe Acobat Pro and somtimes Microsoft Expression. Mac or PC-- it's all the same to me. I usually use the one that I have close at hand, but I find that I am more creative on the Mac.

My creative process is pretty simple I usually make a couple of storyboards to keep the process straight in my head and then I just start shooting video.

Tutorials / Screencast

I use simple screencast tutorials to support online learning and to scaffold some other program I am teaching like Blackboard. These flash based tutorials were created using Camtasia Studio or Jing.

Videos

Using an inexspensive digital video camera and simple 3 point fluorescent lighting, I believe these videos have pretty good quality. I use Premiere Pro for the video production then create a player, skin and website to host the videos and any other teaching materals that are needed. For the past three years I also included the video in iPod format and mp3 audio.

My Designs

Here are some of my basic course designs using both Blackboard and Moodle. These designs utilize both wikis and blogs. The core lectures are Flash based video and are also available as iPod video and MP3 audio which the students can download.
